Building the Community

Our classes and workshops could neither exist nor be sustained without the community that supports them - and in particular, we are grateful to the stars of our show - the Crew.

The Crew are responsible for moving the chairs out of the way, cleaning the floor, setting out the lights and generally making the space lovely before each dance. At the end, the lights are packed up and the chairs returned to their normal positions. It’s not a huge amount of work, but it’s essential, and we couldn’t make these dances happen without the assistance of the Crew. We need two or three helpers for each dance, and three for workshops.

If you’d like to be on the Crew list, please let Zsuzsi know so she can coordinate with you and the other Crew members to make sure that nobody gets overcommitted. We’re happy to get dates in the diary well ahead of time, but we also need people to step in at short notice sometimes.

In return for your assistance on the Friday evenings, it’s a free dance if you help set up and take down. Or a £5 dance if you help at one end of the evening or the other.
